The Beginning

After several centuries teaching students and eating lentils the Swami decides it's high time for a holiday. Rather than book a flight on Air India he retreats to his five-star cave in the Himalayas and begins to meditate.

And meditate..

And meditate more..

Until he reaches a state of inner awakening. He opens his Minds Eye and begins his inner safari in a new world. Filled with gods, creatures, crazy people, heavens, hells (yes multiple ones!) and all things mythological and fantastical. The Swami thus begins and continues on his safari within himself through a distant place unlike anything here on Earth (anymore).

Chapter 1 - "Watering the World Tree"

The Swami visits the World Tree Yggdrasil and is introduced to its many inhabitants. The World Tree supports the entire universe on its limbs, its roots gnawed at by the dragon Nidhoggr. The giant rooster Vidofnir is perched at the top of the tree. Both bird and dragon employ Ratatosk the squirrel to pass insults between themselves (and heaven and hell).

Chapter 2 - "(The) Seven Souls of Anubis"

The Swami accepts Anubis' invitation to assist in his souls ascent to the Afterlife. His body and life force are spun into a skeleton by Chnum the Goat. The seven parts of his soul prepare for the journey: The shadow appears as a monstrous being growing out from the feet, the doppleganger is forever embedded in the gods chest and the personality floats forth from his forehead. All these aspects embark, led by his ghosts, dressed in their Sunday best.
